The release lock is config/releases/1.1.11.json in the freesense-os-base repository. It keeps
the FreeBSD platform, System ports and Optional packages of 1.1.10 and moves the FreeSense source by
one commit. Every published 1.1 release is tagged v1.1.N in those repositories.
1.1.11 supersedes 1.1.10. 1.1.10 is not withdrawn: it already ships PHP 8.5.12 with the fixes for CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, and a system on 1.1.10 is not exposed to them. There is nothing to do before updating. A version number is never reused. Older release notes are on Previous 1.1 releases.
What changed
Section titled “What changed”Images
Section titled “Images”- Cloud images are back, with the VMware tools. 1.1.10 shipped without cloud images: the image
assembly requires
open-vm-tools-nox11in the System repository, and on the 1.1 line that package was not a System build root. It is now (the same as on 1.2), so the ZFS and UFS cloud images are published again and carry the VMware guest tools, next toqemu-guest-agentand the FreeSense cloud-init.
- PHP 8.5.12 is now compiled by FreeSense on amd64, as it already was on arm64, instead of being taken prebuilt from the FreeBSD package mirror. The installed version and configuration are the same; the change is in how the release is produced.
What to check after updating
Section titled “What to check after updating”- PHP version: Diagnostics → Command Prompt, or a shell,
php -vshows 8.5.12. - Optional Packages: unchanged since 1.1.10. If you skipped 1.1.10, open System → Package Manager → Installed Packages and update the packages it offers (HAProxy 3.4.7).
Upgrade notes
Section titled “Upgrade notes”- From 1.1.0, 1.1.5, 1.1.9 or 1.1.10: a normal Stable update. See Updates and release channels.
- From 1.1.1 to 1.1.4: run the console command first.
- From 1.0.x: the upgrade to the 1.1 line is one-way. Read Upgrading from 1.0 first.
- Tested path: a 1.1.9 amd64 system upgraded to 1.1.11 with the FreeSense upgrader: it boots,
reports PHP 8.5.12 (CLI and FPM), the WebUI answers,
pkg checkis clean and PHP-FPM restarts. Optional Packages and arm64 were built but not installed in that test.
